So I just got back from a party at my friend Lydia’s house. She turned 15 on the 19th, but had to wait until this weekend to celebrate, which left a hilarious setup: my friend Sean’s b’day was actually TODAY, the 27th, and they hate each other. So we were almost celebrating his b’day without her consent (tee-hee-hee). In any case, we sat outside for about an hour roasting marshmallows and playing truth or dare (kind of silly I know, but it never seems to get old).
Then we went inside and watched Nightmare Before Christmas, which was really creepy and fun. If you have not seen it, shame on you. It’s a great Tim Burton film for Halloween. We were going to watch it in my 3rd hour on Wednesday, but it got shot down by some preppy (yes, I’m using that label, sorry folks) girls who wanted to watch Disturbia, which really isn’t that great of a movie. First of all, it’s a re-make of a much BETTER movie, Rear Window. Second, it’s got nothing to do with Halloween. How silly is that?
On that previous note, I decided to just be a hippie for Halloween. Not a lot of people know/accept that I am one, so this’ll be a good way to kick off the next quarter.
I think I’m going shopping in The Loop with Lydia tomorrow, so I may (note that I said may) have a picture of the clothes I’ll be wearing for the big day. It’ll probably be something cheap and bohemian from the sale rack at Sunshine Daydream (which isn’t all that expensive anyway, so their sale rack is GREAT).
Also, I discovered a really fun online shop! It’s called HippieShop.com. I’ve got a link to it in my sidebar, so go check it out! That is, if you dig that sort of thing. They’ve got all sorts of really fun clothing, patches, posters, stickers, and some really fun jewelry. They also have some great incense and candles, I highly reccomend this place.
Have a nice evening!
