Par-tay! Can you dig it?

28 10 2007

So I just got back from a party at my friend Lydia’s house. She turned 15 on the 19th, but had to wait until this weekend to celebrate, which left a hilarious setup: my friend Sean’s b’day was actually TODAY, the 27th, and they hate each other. So we were almost celebrating his b’day without her consent (tee-hee-hee). In any case, we sat outside for about an hour roasting marshmallows and playing truth or dare (kind of silly I know, but it never seems to get old). :) Then we went inside and watched Nightmare Before Christmas, which was really creepy and fun. If you have not seen it, shame on you. It’s a great Tim Burton film for Halloween. We were going to watch it in my 3rd hour on Wednesday, but it got shot down by some preppy (yes, I’m using that label, sorry folks) girls who wanted to watch Disturbia, which really isn’t that great of a movie. First of all, it’s a re-make of a much BETTER movie, Rear Window. Second, it’s got nothing to do with Halloween. How silly is that?

On that previous note, I decided to just be a hippie for Halloween. Not a lot of people know/accept that I am one, so this’ll be a good way to kick off the next quarter. ;) I think I’m going shopping in The Loop with Lydia tomorrow, so I may (note that I said may) have a picture of the clothes I’ll be wearing for the big day. It’ll probably be something cheap and bohemian from the sale rack at Sunshine Daydream (which isn’t all that expensive anyway, so their sale rack is GREAT).

Also, I discovered a really fun online shop! It’s called HippieShop.com. I’ve got a link to it in my sidebar, so go check it out! That is, if you dig that sort of thing. They’ve got all sorts of really fun clothing, patches, posters, stickers, and some really fun jewelry. They also have some great incense and candles, I highly reccomend this place. :D

Have a nice evening!

3-day weekend!

25 10 2007

W00T! I have this Friday off! Our drama teacher changed her mind and let us off the hook for musical practice, so we get to have some serious fun!♥

Also, I still have NO idea what I’m going to be for Halloween. :( I might break down and just be as creepy as possible, but I’d like to do something different this year. Maybe I’ll splurge and buy some new clothes from Sunshine Daydream and go as a complete hippie. Although I think the whole point of Halloween is to dress up like something you’re not, right? ;)

Anyway, this Tuesday I got some serious compliments from one of our drama teachers. Remember I mentioned our english class was going to be draped in togas and read scenes from Antigone? Well we went down and read for his tech theatre class, and he said afterwards that he was really impressed with my acting! Which put me on a confidence buzz for the rest of the day. ♥

hmm…. I also think I’m falling for a guy at school. He can be kind of a bitch, but lately he’s been a lot nicer to me. And let me tell you, this boy is GORGEOUS. He really should come with a warning sign. “Caution: Contents are extremely HOT.” I’d like a sign too, only it would say, “Caution: Contents are under extreme pressure and may be explosive!” I’ve been a little more irritable than usual this week, so it’s probably be handy to the unaware stranger. I kind of snapped at one of my friends this week, so I had a lot of explaining to do. Anyway, I’ll keep you posted as usual!

Antigone

19 10 2007

Soooo… We’re reading Antigone in my english class, and I’m really enjoying it. :) Tuesday our tech-theatre department is going to drape us in some sheets and we’ll get to actually act out a few scenes! It’s very exciting. Well, sort of.

Also, our school musical Urinetown is coming along nicely. All that’s left to do is RUN, RUN, and RUN some more (just for good measure). The only downer is that we have to work on a day when the rest of the school is off… but our choir teacher and our tech-theatre/drama teacher are going to barbeque for us! So it’s all good.

Okay, so Halloween is just around the corner, and it should be really fun, but it doesn’t feel the same. I mean it’s on a freaking Wednesday, so there’s not much chance of me doing any good trick-or-treating this year. Also, I have no costume as of yet, which is bringing me down.

I hope you had a nice week!

Hello world, there’s a song that we’re singin’…

13 10 2007

Come on, get happy!

*ahem-ahem*  Now for a poem, which will serve as the rest of my introduction.

- I would give my very last breath

To know you

But will you ever know me?

I am the diamonds glint on snow

I am all the warmth of a gentle Midsummer’s Eve

I am all the serenity of a silent Autumn morning

I am all the strong and savory spices of India

I am passionate and intense

I am shy like an unsure stranger

I am bold like a fiery sunset

I am rich like a thousand symphonies

I am all the deep thoughts of the philosophers

I am carefree like the lightest of dancers

I am all the sensitivities of an adolescent

I am the comfort of black tea in the cold night

I am awe-inspiring like a mountainous terrain

I am simple like a child

I am all the wisdom of the prophets

I am Anna.

Know me. –

Now that we have that settled, I hope you have a lovely day.
