There now, are you happy? Yeesh.

Well, it’s been a little while, but now I’m on spring break! Of course, I’m not really doing anything on said break, but it’s nice not to have homework.

Anyway, I’ve been watching Madama Butterfly all morning on PBS. It’s really beautiful, and much more deep and meaningful than Miss Saigon. Sorry to any Andrew Lloyd Weber fans, but it’s true. hmm…

I think I’ll write more later. I have to think of something to talk about.

Well, my ankle got better, which means that I got to go to our dance last night! It was pretty fun, but the DJ did a half-assed job of including the dateless people (i.e. me and most of my friends). Oh well, at least I got to do something fun this week. My weekend before this sucked. Everyone was depressed and moody and nothing really worked out the way I’d been hoping that it would.

So, late on Friday night I sprained my right ankle, for the BILLIONTH time. Okay, maybe just the 6th or 7th. Angry! I also nearly got hit by my friend’s car earlier that morning- well, I guess he’s my friend. I can never tell when he’s kidding, which makes for a confusing setup. Usually I hope he’s just messing around.

Anyway, I was supposed to start my next semester of dance next week, and now I can’t do that for close to a month! I also probably won’t be going to our “Sweetheart Dance” at school, and I probably won’t dance for our Broadway Review.

Elaboration: The Broadway Review is a big drama department fundraiser which is set up kind of like a talent show, only no prizes . I was thinking of doing “All For The Best” from Godspell, which requires a little soft-shoe tap. Sadly, that will not be happening.

Oh, well. It’s not as bad as breaking my ankle/leg, which I did in 4th grade. Man, that was a pain. With any luck, though, I might be off the crutches by the end of next week.

More Fun Class-time Computer!

I am so not used to being able to get on WordPress during school. WOOHOOO! So……. next is English, which is by far my facorite class of the day. And I get to skip Spanish today! We have a weird rotating schedule: we label our days 1, 2, 3, 4, all the way to 7, and whatever ‘day’ it is, we get to skip that class! So today, a day 4, I go 1-2-3-5-lunch-6-7. WAY FUN!

You know you’re an actor when your life becomes mind-numbingly dull after a performance. Our musical was a big hit, but had to come to an end last weekend, and I sadly did not make it into our One-Acts plays this semester. Although that’s not too bad of a bummer; hardly any freshman get into the One Acts the first semester. Only my friend Miranda made it, and she’s really quite good.

In any case, the holidays have completely snuck up on me! I can’t believe it’s nearly Thanksgiving! It seems so unreal. Before you know it, it’ll be Christmas, and then it’ll be time for EXAMS!!!! But they’re actually kind of cool at my high school: the tests can be pretty hard, but we get to leave school at like 11:00 a.m.! How cool is that?

Also, I didn’t get a chance to update about homecoming last time. It was really fun, except for the part where I lost my friends for a while. I won’t go into that, though. I’ll update again soon!

Oh boy, first homecoming tonight! I think it’s going to be pretty fun, and if it sucks, I’ll only have lost $10 in the process. A bunch of girls keep raving about their dresses, though, and it’s really starting to bug me. “I love mine! It’s got this white lace and it’s reeeaaally long…”"Mine is so pretty! It’s black with red spots, and it was only $5 at Goodwill!” I just think it’s silly to go out and buy a big ol’ fancy schmancy dress that you’ll probably never wear again. I’m just wearing one of my Indian skirts and a t-shirt with a happy dinosaur holding a Popsicle.

A lot of people also have this really romantic vision of what homecoming is supposed to be like. “I just haveto be the only one in white: that way people will all look at me when I come in fashionably late!”"Oh my God, she has the same dress as me! My night is totally ruined!”"Who are you going with?”"OMG, Sam just asked me to the dance!”"I have no date! I feel like such a loser!”

I mean, come on, guys. This isn’t your sweet sixteen; you shouldn’t have gone to Target if you wanted something original; nearly EVERYONE will be wearing white, black, or red; the person you go to the dance with will probably not propose; and if you have no date, it’s not the end of the world. Smart people are just going with friends to have fun. Like me.

So I’m sure it’ll be way fun, and I’m kinda hoping to see the guy I like there… although, if he shows up at all, it’ll be with his girlfriend. I feel like such a hypocrite: I like to poke fun at people who really like someone but have no shot at getting them, but when you’re actually in the position, it sucks. Well, actually, I’m getting the tiniest suspicion that I might have a chance, but if I got him, I’d be stealing him, and I don’t like bf/gf stealers either. Oh well. It could be a good thing if nothing happens, I guess.

Oh, also! Our musical opens next week! It’s the 8th, 9th, and 10th. It feels so weird to have the performance dates so close. It seems like we’re just going to keep practicing and practicing all year, but really we’re only a few days away. It just feels kind of strange.

Anyway, I’ll update soon and tell you how the dance went! ♥

Well, I just got an e-mail from one of my Thespian officers (thespians is a nationally recognized drama club), announcing that of the 28 people who signed up to go to our annual Thespian Conference, they only have room for 23. So all the freshmen and a few sophmores got taken off the registration list. Which includes me. I guess it might be beneficial this year, because Conference is during our review week before FINALS (dun-dun-DUNNNNN!), but I really was looking forward to it. It’s supposed to be a really fun thing to do; you get to take all kinds of classes and workshops for drama and tech and costuming, and a bunch of other fun things. You also get to see a show every night, and people say they’re really very good. Oh well, I hope I can go next year.

On a lighter note, today is Halloween!!!!! Isn’t that totally tubular? I did decide on being a hippie, and I am loving my new clothes/costume. I got some pale green patchwork pants and a nice black shirt with some lace and buttons. So I’m kind of excited by that. Oh, and we didn’t have to watch “Disturbia”, we got to watch Beetlejuice instead. And this evening I’m going to walk around The Loop with my friend Maddie and we’re going out to dinner, so I’m looking forward to that.

Also, homecoming is this Saturday (okay, technically it’s the “Friendship Dance” (lame), but it’s considered our homecoming). So I’ll probably go and it’ll probably be fun. A couple of my senior friends are a little underwhelmed by it, but I think I’ll manage.
